Through years of experience, The Adventure Company has combined the best activities available in the Daintree National Park into a fun adventure packed tour. So now you can see all the amazing sights of this world heritage area in one day without rushing from place to place.

Cairns to Port Douglas Scenic Drive - Cook Highway
The scenic drive to Port Douglas is an experience in itself, winding along the coastline, you will get an appreciation of the diverse environments here in the North. To one side you have the rugged mountains and to the other miles of beautiful, secluded coastline with golden sand and crystal clear waters, all this just 50 metre's to each side.

Port Douglas
From glamorous Four Mile Beach to the wilderness of Dickson Inlet, picturesque Port Douglas has become an international holiday mecca. Port Douglas has two main shopping centres providing exceptional shopping. The Village Centre is framed with views of the sea and open spaces and features almost 100 stores.

Rainforest Habitat Port Douglas

  • The Rainforest leads guests through a lush, tranquil environment where native species such as the endemic Boyd’s Forest Dragon, Eclectus Parrots and the endangered Southern Cassowary can be viewed in a natural setting. A meandering walkway allows the visitor to experience different levels of the rainforest and the varied microenvironments encapsulated within.
  • In the Wetlands an array of wading birds can be viewed foraging for fish and crustaceans in waterways that wind beneath boardwalks and beside pathways. The Wetlands exhibit is considered unique, in that it allows a glimpse of a significant ecosystem to unfold.
  • The Grasslands is an open-air exhibit that portrays both inland and coastal plains. Here guests are enticed to interact with a range of macropods from the statuesque Eastern Grey Kangaroo to the petite Parma Wallaby. Over forty species have been recorded utilising the exhibit as a refuge for breeding.

Mossman Gorge

Daintree National Park is a very accessible and scenic section of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area Strangler figs and epiphytic plants flourish and the crystal-clear Mossman River cascades over granite boulders.

Daintree River Ferry
The Daintree River Ferry, 50km north of Port Douglas, is the only way to cross the river. It operates on a cable system and is capable of taking up to 16 vehicles across the river at a time. This is the only cable ferry operating in a World Heritage area in the world.

Alexandra Lookout - Daintree National Park
A gorgeous view back over the Daintree Rainforest and the mouth of the Daintree River, and out across the coral sea you can see the inner reefs of the Great Barrier Reef. The Lookout is also famous for its population of Birdwing and Ulysses Butterflies.

Cape Tribulation Beach
At Cape Tribulation Beach in the Daintree World Heritage Area there is plenty of time to swim in the Coral Sea (seasonal) or rainforest pool at Cape Trib Beach House. Take a stroll around the beach and boardwalk to the photographers' platform overlooking the mountains and coast where the 'Rainforest meets the Reef'.

Freshly Cooked Lunch at Cape Tribulation Beach
You will be treated to a Chef prepared lunch where only 20m from the bar, bistro and pool deck is the pristine Cape Tribulation beach.
Indulge in a set menu choice of local barramundi (fish), steak and a vegetarian option all served with a fresh garden salad and chips, daily baked bread finished off with a tropical fruit platter to share at your table. Bring your towel and swimmers for a dip in the resort pool or in the ocean (marine stingers are present during Oct-June).

Daintree River Cruise - Crocodile Express
The original Daintree River wildlife cruise established in 1979, Crocodile Express offers a calm-water cruise on the Daintree River with experienced local naturalist guides. The tour runs through the saltwater mangrove and rainforest habitat in the lower Daintree River or the freshwater pasture lands and rainforest upstream from the Daintree Village. There is lots of wildlife to be seen including birds, reptiles, butterflies and the elusive salwater crocodiles.

Rex Lookout - Cook Highway
The view from the Rex Lookout is one of many highlights on the Reef to Rainforest road between Cairns and Port Douglas.
